The Route

The general route is as follows:  We start in Anchorage, AK USA on June 6th.  From there, we ride to the top of Alaska, to the Arctic Circle, at Prudhoe Bay.   We then ride across North America, through Canada, to Toronto.  We are scheduled to arrive in Toronto by July 4th.  From there, we fly with the bikes to London.  We plan to briefly visit Ireland, and explore the UK for a few days before heading into France, and then into Spain.  In Spain, we hope to catch the Running of the Bulls, which runs from July 6- 14.  We also hope to catch a mountain stage of the Tour de France on July 18th in the Pyrenees.   Our route then goes back through France to Italy; then through Austria, Germany, into the Scandinavian countries.  We will ride through Sweden and Finland, entering Russia through Finland some time around August 18th.  In Russia, we will visit St. Petersburg and Moscow, before heading to Mongolia.  We plan to ride through most of northern Mongolia, and then back into Russia, riding the Road of Bones into Magadan.   We will then backtrack a little ways and head south to the port city of Vladivostok.  From there, we will take a ferry to South Korea, our final destination before flying home to dallas.  The bikes will be treated to a nice cruise home to Galveston.

The maps below outline our general route.  Other than noted above, we have purposely not chosen an exact route nor a specific timeline.  So, much of our route will be as much of a surprise to us as to you.
