Frequently Asked Questions:
Q. You're doing what?
A. We are riding our motorcycles around the world.
Q. Yeah, but you can't get ride them across the ocean. What are you gonna do about that?
A. Yes, we realize we can't ride across the ocean. We are shipping the bikes by air in the plane with us.
Q. Why are you doing this?
A. We want to.
Q. Whose idea was it?
A. If we are successful, it was Jim's idea..... If not, it was Joe's.
Q. How long will it take?
A. About 4 months. We left on June 6, and we are scheduled to be back around the first part of October.
Q. How many miles is it?
A. We estimate it will be about 20,000 miles.
Q. Why did you start in Alaska?
A. Well, we wanted to start at home and ride to Alaska and then ship across the Bering Strait and ride West around the planet... but all of the airlines that flew directly to Eastern Russia went bankrupt and it is difficult to get to Magadan, Russia. So, we decided to travel east. In doing so, it was necessary for us to ship our bikes to Alaska to save a month of travel time, therefore avoiding the Siberian Winter.
